This is what happens in a country where locally grown rice is by far more expensive than local rice and the poor can’t afford to buy rice. Nigeria’s government headed by President Muhammadu Buhari is widely viewed by many of Nigeria’s poor people as a government that has failed to bring down the high costs of basic foodstuffs, especially rice, leaving the poor to starve.
